- Tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline
- At least three (3) years’ relevant field safety experience in supervision of installation and maintenance of roadside electrical/traffic systems and its structures, and coordination with government/utility agencies and other contractors
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM preferred
- Experience as a safety auditor/inspector in ensuring Environmental, Safety and Health practices are complied with
- Good knowledge of Code of Practice for Traffic Control at Work Zone and Traffic Control Plan will be beneficial
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, resourceful and meticulous;
- Highly motivated and pro-active with the ability to work both independently as well as in a team;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) for Windows;
- Good verbal communication and writing skills in English;
- Be expected to be deployed at different sites; and
- Prepared to work on site and perform night work based on project needs.
Job Description:
- Oversee the works on equipment structures, installations, deployments, facilities and equipment being deployed at site(s);
- Plan and work out the resource provision requirements, work schedule, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for works at site(s);
- Review planned work schedule and method statements prior to commencement of site work activities;
- Ensure that works are carried out accordingly to design, meeting the safety, health, environmental and comfort requirement for stakeholders;
- Supervise on-going works at sites to ensure compliance with regulations, by-laws and SOP;
- Identify defects and damages at the site infrastructures, including equipment and facilities, as well as theft, accidents, and incidents;
- Coordinate with government/utility agencies and other contractors to set up, operate and maintain the site(s);
- Liaise with sub-contractors, contractors, supervisors, development owners, stakeholders and other personnel involved in the project
- Identify potential injury and harm arising from hazards and corresponding mitigation measures through safety audits/ inspections;
- Monitor the site activities including the security personnel in terms of conduct and performance, including mischief and undesirable behaviours;
- Ensure site(s) safety compliance and continuous improvement by implementing safety awareness initiatives;
- Conduct incident/workplace investigations and corrective action recommendations;
- Formulate safety policies and procedures and responsible for safety documentation and control;
- Carry out safety training to instil safety awareness. Ensure safety rules and regulations at sites are adhered to by all site personnel;
- Be part of Safety Committee and ensure compliance to safety, health and environmental requirements including Authority Code of Practices (COP) and WSH, MOH & MOM Guidelines;
- Resolve any unexpected problems or difficulties that may arise at sites;
- Interface the general public and provide proper references and replies based on a standard FAQ set; and
- Prepare regular reports to update site progress, resource utilisation, requirements, past and on-going activities, etc.
