Job Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Meticulous with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good customer service skills
- The Library Officer is required to work onsite at the office on a daily basis.
- Proficient in computer skills and familiar with SharePoint, with understanding of library operations
- Diploma with minimum 2 years of library working experience
Job Description:
- Process all library loans, returns and reservations; create/maintain user memberships; handle inter-library loans; track and follow up on overdue items.
- Manage daily newspaper operations – receive and distribute papers; maintain physical newspaper collection; update and inform users of newspaper passwords changes.
- Manage digital content – upload publications to the intranet; create and maintain SharePoint e-Alerts for staff.
- Maintain library collection – conduct shelf reading; refresh display shelves; shelve books; maintain complimentary publications master list; liaise with suppliers on deliveries and claims; process new publications; assist in weeding and stocktake exercises.
- Answer simple enquiries regarding loans, circulation and collection.
- Support library outreach through EDM creation and display management.
- Perform administrative duties – forward alerts to officers; send out and update Welcome Notes; maintain staff movement records; perform other library duties as required
